Oral & maxillofacial surgery is a surgical specialty which its main emphasis is the bone structures of face. This includes facial bones of upper and lower jaw, cheek, nose, orbit, palate, and teeth. Since the skeletal structure is foundation of muscle attachment, pathways of nerves and blood vessels, and protectors of vital structures, its important to recognize, identify and repair abnormalities of facial skeleton so the patient can return to normal function as soon as possible. Treatment goal is ultimately bring the patient back to the full function as a person. Therefore, recognizing overall function of the patient as a whole is critical to achieve such goal.

The staff is trained in assisting all surgical procedures within our new state of the art office setting. They were selected carefully after working with Dr. Won for many years for their competency and knowledge. Patients are continuously monitored during and after surgery by Dr. Won himself and the staff. In addition, general anesthesia that requires endotracheal intubation will be provided by a board certified anesthesiologist at the Rex and Western Wake Hospital.
